Official tasting notes:
Nose: Intense flavour from a timeless thread of peat smoke. A beautiful combination of dried fruits, nutmeg, ginger and beautifully polished oak plus dates, figs and raisins, heavy but sweet.
Palate: A dry smokiness reveals itself yielding to softer oak tones.
Finish: Long and fruity with an elegant wood smoke.

Bottling Notes
This expression from the Macallan 1824 Master’s series is usually exclusive to travel retail and features a print of one of The Macallan’s Six Pillars (its curiously small stills), captured by world-renowned Magnum photographer Paolo Pellegrin. Limited to 7,000 bottles, the commemorative pack includes a pewter flask featuring an etched illustration of The Macallan’s new distillery and visitor experience.
An exceptionally high proportion of first filled sherry-season oak casks have been used to mature this rare, peated Macallan spirit with less than 100 of the casks maturing at the distillery hand-picked by the Macallan whisky makers to create this offering.
According to Edrington, the flavour delivers “a full-bodied richness from the European sherry-seasoned and American oak casks, with the added intensity of peat smoke”.
