Official tasting notes.
Aromas akin to a basket of fruits – white grape, red apple and lime, plus honey. Vanilla, spicy undertones. Rhubarb and custard sweets, charred oak, then a mazy finish including citrus peel. A fascinating, complex finale that takes in peppery notes, orange peel and cinder toffee.

Description
Unsmoked Ledaig…? Yep, you’ve read it right.
Although the Tobermory distillery has two designations, Tobermory for their unpeated malt and Ledaig for their peated malt, this offering is an unpeated Ledaig. You might ask if this is simply a Tobermory release then, however, it isn’t as the production of Ledaig does vary slightly from their production of Tobermory. It’s not well known what these differences are, it most likely has to do with fermentation time and/or cut points. Or, it could be distillate from a cleaning run when the distillery switched from peated to unpeated spirit. Either way – it’s a rarity indeed!
Aged for 27 years in a virgin oak hogshead, the whisky was then finished for 3 months in a first fill Oloroso sherry barrel before bottling at 47.2% ABV with a yield of 239 bottles. It’s yet another winner in the Ferg & Harris arsenal that’s brimming with flavour and length.
