Nose: The nose is cloying with peanut brittle, cinnamon stick, rum raisin, molasses and fresh cut firewood.
Palate: Though the proof is something to be reckoned with there is an immediate burst of fruit flavor. I tasted ripe plum soaked in maple syrup with the distinct sourness of tart cherries. The warmth of oak and leather are noticeable on the finish.

This 9th edition of Angels Envy ‘Cask Strength’ Port finish was released in 2020 with F. Paul Pacult describing it as “A masterpiece that will live long in legend after the final bottle is poured.” The expression featured new unique tasting notes, such as salted chocolate and ripe cherry and comes in a robust, quality, timber coffin-style display box.
It can take years for a barrel of Angel’s Envy to reach cask strength standards, and only a handful are exceptional enough to make the cut. The lucky few are finished in Port wine barrels for up to 9 months, or as long as needed, culminating in a whiskey that’s both rare and worthy of envy.
