Description:
Following the success of Backwoods Distilling Co’s first Rye, Red Gum whisky that was released in March 2021 under their ‘Special Cask Project’ branding comes their second edition that’s already a sell-out at the distillery. Bree and Leigh Atwood, owners and distillers at Backwoods have sent a parcel of stock our way for our supporters who may have missed out on purchasing the expression, and they comment:

“A batch of our signature rye whisky, fully matured in red gum casks. A vatting of two casks, expertly coopered from red gum wood, taken from decades-old Barossa wine vats. A distinctive Aussie whisky. The only one like it in the world and the only red gum matured whisky we will release this year”

The rye whisky was matured in 2 x 100L Red Gum barrels with a mashbill of Heritage rye grain, malted barley, winter wheat & roasted chocolate malt and is non-chill-filtered with no added colour.
