Bottling Notes
Here’s a cracking single malt whisky from Nonesuch distillery that was matured in an ex 20 Litre Sherry cask and bottled at cask strength that gives us the opportunity to enjoy it straight from the barrel.
Nonesuch produces micro batches of whisky with flavour profiles that are unique and memorable, and due to the small output of supply, (only 30 bottles were yielded from the cask), they can make sure the whisky receives the level of attention required to craft it to perfection.
Limited quantities available.
John Atkins (verified owner) –
At cask strength it has strong alcohol presence but in an effervescent way…not a burning way…Sherbet…I feel like Bill Oddie…explosions of sweet and sour…herbally, Gin-like.
Aftertaste at it subsides…it’s more than a finish…it’s a journey…tang, tangelo, orange peel.
I added water to bring it down to about 47%. Perfect…blow me down with a feather….Nonesuch whiskey’s standard is around 48% ABV. Where it should be. This has plenty of flavour and doesn’t need cask strength. A testament to the quality. Looking forward to trying more of the other offerings.
