Our tasting notes
We always enjoy nosing and sampling OCD’s new make spirit because it’s a consistent flavour profile that brings crisp layers of sun kissed hazelnuts, soft herbal notes and fragrant morning lilies. These profiles translate beautifully to the finished product of OCD’s 8th release, with the new French oak cask offering a fusion of boiled chamomile leaves, white chocolate and freshly made waffles. The whisky starts off a little hot on the front palate, then effortlessly transforms to a creamy malt-based nectar on the back palate with an exquisite coda of bush honey and spice.
Final thoughts
Eduard and Julie have created a delicate, youthful and fun whisky that will stand tall against any Australian 30-month-old whisky on the market. Let it breath for a while and that initial heat turns to tangy butter.
