Description
The much-anticipated 3rd release of Paul Launois matured Ardnamurchan has finally dropped in Australia. If you are un-familiar with the Champagne House Paul Launois, you can find more information HERE
This 2024 unpeated recipe consists of twelve Bourbon barrels that were re-racked in to artisan Mesnil producer Paul Launois’s ex-Champagne casks and one American bourbon cask for balance. Bottled at 57.3% ABV the whisky is non-chill-filtered with no added colour. The allocation for the Australian market was strictly limited and these beauties won’t last long on our virtual shelves so best be quick.
The Distillery comments;
“In short, Ardnamurchan receives 10 Paul Launois Champagne casks each year and fills them with Ardnamurchan whisky previously aged in ex-bourbon barrels. These casks are aged until ready to be bottled as part of the annual Paul Launois Limited Release”.
About Ardnamurchan distillery
Ardnamurchan distillery was built and is owned by Adelphi, an independent bottling company and is considered one of the remotest distilleries in Scotland.
With a keen eye on sustainability, the distillery is powered by renewable energy to reduce their carbon footprint via hydro-electric power and a large bio-mass boiler using timber from the nearby Ardnamurchan forest. The boiler provides heat to the distillery floor maltings and the distillery and the whisky is created using water from springs above the distillery drawing from the Glenmore River.
