Description
Born from the same batch of Scottish barley peated to 101.4ppm like the 16.1, Bruichladdich Octomore 16.2 is an Islay rebel with serious style. It’s aged in a bold mix of Oloroso and Bordeaux casks, then takes a flavour-packed detour through Madeira and Portuguese Moscatel casks.
Expect layers of caramelised sugar, roasted nuts, and dried fruits, all swirling together in a haze of sweet campfire smoke, a deliciously daring dram from the heart of Scotland.
Head distiller Adam Hannett comments:
“Octomore 16.2 is a captivating exploration of contrasting elements. The powerful peat smoke finds a perfect counterpoint in the rich, nuanced sweetness derived from the finishing casks. The result is a multilayered and deeply satisfying dram, showcasing both elegance and robust character. This is a whisky that demands attention and rewards patience, revealing its intricacies with each sip”.
