The spirit derives its name from the courageous act of a descendant of the Mackenzie Clan in 1263 who gallantly saved King Alexander III from a charging stag. The beholden King granted the Clan with an iconic 12-point stag emblem in their coat of arms and today every bottle of The Dalmore single malt whisky is adorned with this noble emblem, exemplifying the distillery’s royal pedigree.
It’s a unique blend of 3 cask finishes. It’s matured in a mix of two types of first fill ex-bourbon casks and Oloroso Sherry butts, then finished in Port Pipes from the Duoro Region Portugal to create a truly individual Dalmore expression.
