Description
This is the 11th batch of whisky that independent bottler ‘Boutique-y’ have sourced from the Balmenach distillery in Speyside. Finished in an ex-Oloroso sherry cask, the whisky was bottled at 47.8% yielding only 86 bottles.
Always a favourite with the Boutique-y team, this whisky (from the home of Caorunn Gin) is a bold, buttery beauty. The label’s a mash-up between Tron & Futurama’s vision of the internet, an array of neon signs… with a few new additions for this batch.
About Balmenach Distillery
Balmenach is one of Speyside’s most traditional distilleries and makes what could be classed as an ‘old-style’ whisky. Its whisky is highly-prized as fillings for blends so rarely seen as a single malt in its own right. Long fermentations, relatively small stills that are run quickly, and worm tubs, rather than shell and tube condensers are used to condense the spirit. This helps to produce a new make character which is rich and meaty, ideal for adding weight to blends.
