Tasting notes.
Very oaky but quite clean: nutty with notes of old furniture, cocoa powder, camphor and distant chimney smoke. There are notes of black coffee, a hint of leather, some pinewood. It’s chewy and intense, growing spicier.

Description
Wilson & Morgan delivers an unpeated Ardmore that we much prefer to call a “Ghost” peated Ardmore, that showcases silky Oloroso sherry notes. The whisky was first matured in a refill Oloroso sherry butt, and then finished for 34 months in first fill Oloroso sherry. Enthusiasts will discover layers that highlight the distillery’s versatility. The extended finishing creates depth and complexity with the sherry cask imparting elegant sweetness with beautifully integrated, caramelised smoke.
So, what is “Ghost” peated Ardmore?
It makes for an incredibly complex whisky. Although the spirit was distilled unpeated, you will find beautiful smoky notes from the nosing to the finish. Speaking with the team at Wilson and Morgan, they believe that it was from an unpeated, distillation batch run immediately after one of the truly peated ones. So, some of the peaty influence was left in the stills and tubes, and it was translated to the final product.
A one-of-a-kind whisky that works on every single level – This is one bottle you must try, delightful stuff!
